SOBER SONGS is a darkly comedic musical that follows six young adults in early recovery at a local AA meeting.

Dean has it all the voice, the looks, the fame. Discovered on Instagram and hailed as the next big thing, he rockets from rock frontman to Broadway leading man. But behind the curtain, addiction threatens to destroy everything he’s worked for. Fired on opening night after passing out backstage, Dean stumbles into an AA meeting in a Brooklyn church basement, where he finds a group of young adults navigating the same struggles he is desperate to outrun, who don’t care about his stardom, only his honesty.

As Dean battles the fear of losing his spark without alcohol, the guilt of letting down everyone around him, and the fragile hope of building a new life, he must face the hardest role of his career: learning how to live and maybe even love without the crutch of addiction.

Blending biting humor, emotional ballads, and sharp dialogue, the show evolves from light and charming to deeply emotional, offering a raw, character-driven, and emotionally authentic look at addiction, love, identity, and the complicated, messy road to sobriety.

With heart, heartbreak, and cathartic honesty, SOBER SONGS offers a deeply human—and at times hilarious—glimpse into recovery culture.
